Discover the history of nearby Fylingdales moor and its archaeology through the 'Fire over the Fylingdales' exhibition courtesy of Whitby museum and a display reflecting the moor's current management by the Hawk and Owl Trust. All displayed in Old St Stephens Church, with its picturesque views over Robin Hoods Bay. This rare and unaltered church, cared for by the Churches Conservation Trust has retained its box pews, three decker pulpit and galleries. Rare 'maidens Garlands', carried in funeral processions, are also preserved in the church. Guided walks available throughout the weekend. Look out for Saturday afternoon guided walk with an Archaeologist on Fylingdales Moor.
Directions
5 m SE of Whitby. Take the B1447, the church is on the right before the road descends into Robin Hood's Bay. Very limited parking available.
