Description

Come and explore the unique cultural and natural history of the St Ann's Heritage Gardens - the oldest and largest detached town gardens in Europe! We are half way through a HLF project on this Grade II* listed site - come and see what we've found. There will be heritage tours, exhibitions, children's activities, and the chance to sample delicious locally grown food.

Horticultural and environmental arts & crafts workshops for all ages.

Directions

Access via Community Orchard entrance on Ransom Rd. (1m N of city centre, off Woodborough Rd B684). Opposite Hill View Community Centre. Signs, posters and balloons will mark the entrance. Parking along Ransom Rd. For disabled vehicles only, limited parking is available on-site via the double-gated entrance on Ransom Rd.

Public Transport Details

BUS - From city centre, No 42 to Ransom Road, or no 45 to Ransom Road/ Woodborough Road junction and walk down the hill. See http://www.ukbuses.co.uk to plan your route.

Opening Times

Sunday 12th September: 1100-1600, Tours 1130 & 1230 & 1400

Access

PDA - The site is very hilly, tours will involve steps and uneven surfaces. It can get slippery when wet. Limited access for wheelchair users, disabled people, or those using buggies. Please ring the office on 0115 911 0207 to discuss your needs.

Additional Information

The heritage tours are unsuitable for children. Tea and coffee at community orchard, hot food and drink at Fresh Project. The Heritage Tours at 1130 & 1230 will start from the community orchard. The tour at 1400 will start at the ecoworks. Limited (compost) toilet facilities.
