College Green, Gloucester, Gloucestershire, GL1 2LR
Gloucester had a thriving bell-making industry from 700 years ago, when Hugh ‘The Bell Founder’ first set up shop. Well-known makers include Hedley, Henshaw and Rudhall. Rudhall made over 5,000 bells, including the oldest bell in the USA. Some of the bells are in St Mary de Crypt and the Cathedral. There are two Rudhall bells on display in St Michael’s Tower.
This event took place in September 2013 and the entry is now archived.
