UWE Glenside Campus, Blackberry Hill, Stapleton, Bristol, Bristol, BS16 1DD

Glenside Hospital Museum is located in the Victorian Chapel of a former Asylum. In 1915-1919 the War Office took it over, with Beaufort War Hospital treating 26,000 wounded soldiers. The Museum will be displaying discovered stories, postcards, autograph books and artefacts in a new WW1 exhibition. Visitors can also explore a collection demonstrating how mental health care and the care for those with learning difficulties has changed, experience an impressive display of items, including HLF Listening Point: 'Voices of staff and patients', and view a collection of local fossils. As part of the WW1 exhibition there will be the opportunity to think and put words and images onto a postcard to send to a family member or friend.

This event took place in September 2014 and the entry is now archived.
