Caversham Court, Church Road, Caversham, Reading, Berkshire, RG4 7AD

Drop in to the 17th century summer house in Caversham Court Gardens to see a special exhibition "Magna Carta and William Marshal, Lord of the manor of Caversham". Marshal acted as intermediary between King John and the barons as Magna Carta was sealed in 1215. After King John died, Marshal was appointed regent to the boy King Henry III and re-issued Magna Carta under his own seal, ensuring its survival. Look out for poetry and art installations tucked away in the beautiful riverside gardens! Guided tours of the gardens and the exhibition are available on Saturday and Sunday. Charity-run Tea Kiosk open on site.

This event took place in September 2015 and the entry is now archived.
