Cathedral Cloisters , Angel Hill , Bury St Edmunds , Suffolk, IP33 1LS
An educational project funded by the Ormiston Children 7 Families Trust who worked with fifteen young travellers, aged 12 to 21, as they enrolled on a 20-week photography course to learn and develop new skills. The aim of the project was to challenge the negative stereotypes of Gypsy and Traveller culture that have arisen from TV shows such as Big Fat Gypsy Weddings. Quote for photo: “ This image of my little brother represents his future in front of him, and the shadow of the steel fence is supposed to show the possibility of future peril and racism” Billy 17 (Please note that services may be taking place in the Cathedral at the same time).
This event took place in September 2013 and the entry is now archived.
