Epworth Old Rectory, Epworth, Lincolnshire, DN9 1HX
Enjoy a free tour of Epworth Old Rectory led by knowledgeable guides who will bring the house to life for you. Built in 1709 this was the childhood home of John and Charles Wesley and their seven sisters. You can learn about life in an early 18th century rectory and how the family survived somewhat difficult circumstances. This was where the Wesleys first received their inspiration to be disciplined and methodical from their mother Susanna Wesley. Children can dress up in early 18th century costume and pretend to be Susanna Wesley's children learning on slates in her kitchen.
