Speke Hall , The Walk, Liverpool, Merseyside, L24 1XD
Speke Hall is a stunning example of a Tudor manor house with restored Victorian interiors. Situated in a most unusual setting, it is surrounded by attractive gardens protected by a collar of woodland. Constructed by a devout Catholic family, who were keen to impress visitors with their home's grandeur, this beautiful building has witnessed more than 400 years of turbulent history. The venue will open from 1100 to 1230 for half-hourly guided tours; the tickets to these are on a first come first serve basis and are free. At 1230 the house will be open for visitors to walk around at their own pace. Volunteer room guides will help to answer any questions you may have and bring the property to life. With our Victorian maze, children’s play area, family tracker packs – not to mention outdoor ping-pong, indoor billiards and woodland walks: Speke Hall is a great place to bring the kids.
This event took place in September 2013 and the entry is now archived.
Wheelchair users will be able to access the ground floor of Speke Hall and all of the grounds, however a lift is not currently available.
