Wakefield historian Kate Taylor will be discussing the long and varied history of the medieval Chantry Chapel, from the controversial restoration project of the 1840s to the opening of The Hepworth Wakefield in 2011. The Chantry Chapel is located across the road from the gallery on Wakefield’s medieval bridge; it is one of the only three surviving bridge chantries in the country and dates from the mid 14 century.
