Woodhorn Museum and Northumberland Archives, QEII Country Park, Ashington, Northumberland, NE63 9YF
For Heritage Open Days 2013 Woodhorn is delighted to present The Big M, an incredible, inflatable mobile exhibition venue and cinema. In The Big M you can discover a stunning new film programme ‘On the Precipice’ - curated by Kelly Richardson (Mariner 9) - which explores our relationship with contemporary landscape and the effect humans have had on the natural environment. The Big M will be sited in the Pt Yard of Woodhorn’s historic colliery site, a thought provoking setting for this eye-catching structure & immersive experience. The Big M is a fascinating space to enjoy and the programme is suitable for the whole family. Woodhorn itself is a great place for families with exhibition interactives, exciting buildings to explore and plenty of space to roam.
This event took place in September 2013 and the entry is now archived.
On the Precipice - The Big M Tour is supported by Culture Lab at Newcastle University and funded by Arts Council England’s National Strategic Touring Programme, and produced by ISIS Arts in conjunction with the tour partners The Toffee Factory, Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council, North Tyneside Council, mima Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, Woodhorn Museum and Northumberland Archives and Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival.
