Council Room, Second Floor of the Great North Museum: Hancock, Barras Bridge, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear, NE2 4PT
The Society will once more be opening the doors of its prestigious Council Room allowing visitors to view the historic furnishings and paintings. There will also be a small exhibition from the archives of our late President and local wildlife artist, James Alder (1920-2007). On display will be rare copies of the two beautifully illustrated books he produced for the Queen Mother and the Queen, 'Birds and Flowers of the Castle of Mey' in 1993 and 'Birds and Flowers of Balmoral' in 1997. The Society's Archivist, June Holmes, will also be available to answer questions.
This event took place in September 2013 and the entry is now archived.
