Woodhorn, QEII Country Park, Ashington, Northumberland, NE63 9YF
Heritage Open Days weekend is the perfect chance to catch our special exhibition about 19th Century Alnwick Printmaker William Davision before it closes. The Northumberland Archives at Woodhorn house a remarkable collection of over 4,500 printer's proofs from Davison's printing shop, the highlights of which are showcased this fascinating exhibition. As well as providing a unique glimpse into the social and economic life of Alnwick at the time, the proofs also vividly illustrate the development of more decorative advertising techniques. A must-see for design fans as well as history buffs. There's a hands-on printing activity for children and a chance to 'appear' on the front page of a newspaper by taking your ownphotograph against a special backdrop
This event took place in September 2013 and the entry is now archived.
