Main Street, Cockermouth, Cumbria, CA13 9RX

You are guaranteed a warm welcome, whether you meet the maid, manservant or one of our knowledgable 21st-century guides. They will give you a taste of history in the Georgian kitchen and you can marvel at stories brought to you by ghostly hologram figures from the past. Outside, explore William's beloved garden. This inspired many of his poems and is full of 18th-century flowers, fruit and vegetables - all used in the house. Relax in the summerhouse and try the homemade cakes and scones in our cafe. Take in a talk, tasting or children's holiday activity.
