Before you set off to explore those hidden architectural delights in your area over Heritage Open Days, why not discover more about some of them on the PastScape website. This year, you can click from some 200 Heritage Open Days entries through to their digital National Monument Record files and get more in-depth information about the property.
PastScape is a free, quick and easy way to search over 400,000 records of historic sites in England. It is the online version of English Heritage’s National Monuments Record (NMR) database and contains a wide range of archaeological, architectural and maritime sites dating from prehistoric times to the present day.
PastScape holds records for a large number of this year’s Heritage Open Days properties. Some have a direct link at the bottom of their event directory entry. For others you may want to go straight to the PastScape homepage and use the quick search to enter a key word or the name of the site you are interested in.
Enjoy this year’s events!
