Chester is delighted to host the 2008 national launch of Heritage Open Days.

The Chester Civic Trust and Chester City Council are proud to be associated with this most important annual celebration of our architectural heritage. We believe that Chester, with its historic city centre dating back over 2000 years, exemplifies the importance of caring for our built environment, for current and future generations.

This is a very special year for the city as it is the 40th anniversary of the production of Donald Insall’s seminal report ‘Chester a Study in Conservation’.

Heritage Open Days in Chester is a partnership event involving the national Civic Society movement, Chester City Council and Chester Civic Trust, with generous sponsorship support this year from Donald Insall Associates. This event would not be possible without the involvement of the many building owners and managers to whom we are most grateful.
