An exciting programme of events has rolled in for 2021! From sustainable fashion and poisonous plants to video games and escape rooms, these innovative Heritage Open Days have been developed by local organisers in collaboration with young people. 

These exciting events are all part of New Wave, a training programme made possible with the support of players of People's Postcode Lottery. It takes a small group of local festival organisers through a structured programme focused on working with young adults.

Do you dream of glamorously dressed people in snappy shoes stepping from clouds of steam as the train whistles in all those Agatha Christie films? Well then this one's for you! Take a trip back to the 'golden age' with costumes to pose in, games to play, playlists to hear, all in the setting of a collection of extraordinary railway vehicles.

As the sun sets journey back in time, way, way back in time... to discover the secrets of the Calder Stones on this special trail.

Connect with the city in a new way with this four part audio series seeking the places of solace people found during the pandemic.

Ready Player One! Take a trip through gaming history for a special evening of behind the scenes insights from the museum team, and, of course, a chance to play over 60 games!

At England's most easterly point take a walk with a historian to explore this town's ghostly tales, folklore and legends before exploring its history of witchcraft at this enlightening exhibition. 

Create a classic with the help of chef Ben in the pastry kitchen at the University of West London. Only a lucky few can be in the room but many more can join online.

  • Food for thought in Brighton (East Sussex)

Something new is brewing down in the kitchen at Preston Manor, while outside it's a question of 'to eat or not to eat?' when looking at potentially poisonous plants.
