Volunteer with us - get involved, gain experience and make connections

Ever wondered how such a large and diverse festival runs?  Well here's a chance to find out - we have two great new opportunities to join our friendly and dedicated team. Both roles are office based and we'll provide an induction and guidance throughout your placement.

"This has been an extremely rewarding opportunity for me...it was really nice to learn from everyone on a daily basis and always feel like I had support when I needed it." Courtney - previous volunteer

Admin & PR Assistant

Develop your skills and experience whilst getting a great overview of the heritage sector. You'll research and promote new highlights, help register sites for the event directory, and assist with the running of stakeholder events including our national anniversary party.

“I found it extremely rewarding, giving me a greater insight into the sector as well as building my confidence after making the decision to change my career.” Archie - previous volunteer

Social Media Assistant

Are you an avid Facebook user, intrepid Tweeter or inspirational Instagrammer? Well we’re looking for an enthusiastic and creative volunteer to help with our social media channels. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills further and take on an important role in promoting England’s largest festival of history and culture.

"As a social media assistant, I expected to learn how to use Twitter, Instagram and Facebook in a professional setting and gain insights into the technical tricks of their algorithms and scheduling. In this regard all my expectations were met, but what I wasn't expecting was how creative and fun it could be as a form of expression." Carrie - previous volunteer
