Visit this impressive 15th Century Grade II listed Tithe Barn at Manor Farm, Little Bookham, which is one of the largest in Surrey at 4,500 square feet.
This year we celebrate the establishment of the Bookhams Residents' Association in 1926 with displays covering the subsequent 100 years of Bookham's history.
Other illustrated displays tell the history of this tiny village of Little Bookham including its historic buildings which include the manor house(s), church and Tithe Barn. Enjoy the audio-visual presentations covering 100 year's of Bookham's history and episodes in the history of Little Bookham, which will be repeated during the day.
Refreshments can be enjoyed in the barn or in the terraced courtyard garden which has been recreated from photographs taken in the 1920s. Families with children are very welcome. Parking is available on site with further parking at the neighbouring Manor House School (not open to visit).
Part of the Effingham/Little Bookham Heritage Open Day Group, with properties that can all be visited by walking the Effingham Heritage Trail and the Bishop's Walk (printed copies available at venues). Other properties open include All Saints Church (associated with the Tithe Barn) and St Lawrence Church, Effingham where Sir Barnes Wallis is buried, Effingham Golf Club, Effingham Methodist Church and Our Lady of Sorrows RC Church (parking available).
