The Huguenot Museum is the only museum of Huguenot history in the UK. The Huguenots were French Protestants who escaped religious persecution from the 16th century onwards.

The Huguenot Museum is delighted to welcome visitors as part of Heritage Open Days. Thanks to our National Lottery Heritage Fund project, The Huguenot Museum – A New Future, we are proud to display the Lethieullier Dolls' House, on loan from the National Trust until October 2026.

This remarkable 18th-century "Baby House" was given to Sarah Lethieullier (1722–1788), daughter of a Huguenot merchant. Containing over 700 objects, including twelve dolls, it is being displayed away from the family home for the first time in over 250 years.

The museum also showcases the French Hospital Collection alongside its own, telling the story of French Protestant refugees through portraits, textiles, silver, clocks and sacred texts.

As part of Heritage Open Days, visitors can also enjoy the rare opportunity to explore the French Hospital, normally closed to the public.

Entry is via the rear gates opposite Rochester Railway Station. Please note that step-free access is temporarily unavailable. We apologise for any inconvenience. Once inside, the museum is fully accessible. The nearest public car parks are Rochester Station and Blue Boar Lane.
