27 St Johns Street is a 18th Century Grade 2 listed building which, until 1869 was a dwelling house and garden owned by Edwin Giddings.

In 1869 it became a club under lease known as the North Wilts Club and was listed as the dwelling house and garden in the occupation of the North Wilts Club which was dissolved in 1931 and reformed under lease as the Devizes and District Club (‘theClub’).
The premises remained on lease as the Club during World War 2 and members donated paintings and memorabilia which are still on display. In 1946 the premises were purchased by and remain the freehold property of the Club members and the Club remains a private members club. The facilities include a well maintained walled garden, a well stocked bar area, a snooker room with full size table. The Club holds numerous social events during the year. Membership is subject to some regulations and to approval by the Management Committee and the General membership. Applications will be welcome.
