As the current custodians of the historic building at 8 Bowling Green Street, Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage has researched its fascinating history and the vital role it has played in Leicester since 1865.

Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage proudly marks its first year at 8 Bowling Green Street, a Grade II listed building in Leicester city centre. 2025 marks the 160th anniversary of the opening of the building. Join us to explore the building's rich history and discover how it continues to serve as a vibrant hub for heritage and arts in the city today.

Pre-booking is preferred to allow Serendipity to know the numbers of those attending before the event. Between 10am – 12pm and 3pm – 5pm, visitors are welcome to drop-in to see and hear about the history of the building and explore Serendipity’s specially curated exhibitions.
