As the current custodians of the historic building at 8 Bowling Green Street, Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage has researched its fascinating history and the vital role it has played in Leicester since 1865.

Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage proudly marks its first year at 8 Bowling Green Street, a Grade II listed building in Leicester city centre. 2025 marks the 160th anniversary of the opening of the building. Join us to explore the building's rich history and discover how it continues to serve as a vibrant hub for heritage and arts in the city today.

8 Bowling Green Street is a Grade II listed building with steps leading up to the main entrance. A doorbell is located next to the wooden door for assistance. Studio Box is situated on the first floor, accessible via a flight of 25 steps. The building has one accessible toilet on the ground floor and four toilets on the first floor, including an additional accessible toilet equipped with a twist lock, grab rail, and emergency alarm.
