94 High Street Vault with Live Music

Accessed via a metal spiral staircase from the High St, 94 High Street Vault was built around 1350. A vault with a rather unique structure - housing a fireplace, unusual for a wine vault where you would normally wish to keep it cool, perhaps a charcoal brazier stood here to keep important customers warm who came to taste the wine in wintertime.
Through utilising the fascinating history and heritage event in combination with our local celebration of live music; Music in The City should culminate in a totally unique experience for the people of Southampton and the wider community. 94 High Street Vault is one of 7 different vaults open especially for the event, all with their own unique character and atmosphere, elevated through the live music being performed. The live music is diverse with all types of genres and artists performing including folk, rock, sea shanties, afrobeats, choirs and more.

Narrow stairwell so will need to be careful when accessing the premises, also previous rainfall can cause it to be slippery on the stairwell and the floor.
