  • 20 Sep 2025
  • In person
  • Pre-booking required

On this heritage costumed guided walking tour, you will be guided by not one, but two guides from different time zones.

Secrets and Scandals – Victorian Saltaire – Mrs. Pollie Toothill.

Follow Pollie Toothill, Saltaire Victorian, who will give you a potted history of Saltaire, tell you all about the village including her story plus a scandal or two, why Saltaire and all about Sir Titus Salt. You will also meet one or two other Villagers from this time.

Follow Pollie across the bridge over the river to the park, say goodbye to Victorian Saltaire and board the Time Machine AKA Shipley Glen Tramway. Leave Victorian Saltaire as you ride up through the magical glen on the 130 year old Tramway, time travelling forward to Edwardian England.

Nell Kenney, the forgotten Bingley Suffragette.

Meet your next guide Bingley Suffragette, Nell Kenney who will take you to the site of the ‘monster’ Suffragette rally where up to 100,000 people gathered in 1908. Nell will tell you her story and that of her sisters, in particular her younger and more famous sister Annie who caught the eye of the then PM.

It’s fun and factual.
