A Guided Walk and Tour of Belas Knap Long Barrow

As part of the 2025 Heritage Open Days Festival, English Heritage are offering an exclusive free guided walk and tour of Belas Knap Long Barrow. Belas Knap is a particularly fine example of a Neolithic long barrow, with a false entrance and side chambers. Excavated in 1863 and 1865, the remains of 31 people were found in the chambers. The barrow has since been restored.
The tour will take place on Friday 19 September at 11:00 am and is approx 1.5 hours long.
Please not there is limited car parking and a 20mins physically demanding walk up hill most of the way to the Long Barrow.’ Please wear good walking foot wear, dress for the weather and note no toilets available.
Due to limited spaces on the tour , booking is essential.
