A History of Here - Two Short Talks
Nantwich Museum, Pillory Street, Nantwich, Cheshire, CW5 5BQ
As part of Heritage Week, we turn to the 'Everyday History' of the building we operate in. It hasn't always been a museum...
To open up our site, we've decided to invite people to come and listen to the story of the museum.
Through a pair of short talks, come and learn how Nantwich Museum came to be, and what it could be today.
In 'From Prison to Museum', Dr Helen Cooke explores the history of the site. Bringing new research, she tells the tale of the building and what came before the museum.
In 'Deconstructing the Museum', Caleb White questions the history, role, and relevancy of the museum, and looks at Nantwich Museum's place in a bigger picture.
Refreshments provided, 12am-1pm, Friday 18th September, Nantwich Museum, Pillory Street, Free Admission.
