A Profiles of the Past Exhibition: William Hamlet, a singular artist
The Regency Town House, 13 Brunswick Square, Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, BN3 1EH
This exhibition has developed from work undertaken by a number of contributors to our 'Profiles of the Past' project, most especially our Profiles silhouette expert, Brian Wellings and our West Country-based collaborator, Ceris Humphreys, who is involved in research with several organisations in the city of Bath.
Working with colleagues, Ceris and Brian have pieced together the life history of William Hamlet the Elder and some of his offspring, shining a light on several generations of highly talented individuals who succeed against considerable odds.
Our Heritage Open Days silhouette exhibition for 2025 showcases Hamlet's portraiture of those in fashionable society and Royalty, as well as presenting the fascinating story of his life and the lives of his offspring.
