A ramble around Howley
Bruntcliffe Working Mens Club car park, Bruntcliffe Road, Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS27 0LQ
You will need to use your imagination to envisage Howley Hall the palatial home of Sir John Savile, one of the main architects of the 1626 Leeds Charter that we celebrate this year. The ramble will also take in part of the Leeds Country Way, Birkby Brow Wood, Howley Mill (where shoddy was first produced) and the Mirfield Manor House (now Howley Golf Club). Weather permitting there will be some fantastic views of the South Pennines.

The ground will be rough underfoot and hilly in places so unfortunately is not suitable for wheelchair users. Please wear appropriate footwear. Please DO NOT park in the Club car park and respect the needs of local residents when parking on nearby streets.
The walk begins and ends at the same point. Don't forget to bring a drink and a bite to eat if required. Refreshments can be enjoyed after the walk at the Toby Carvery (formerly The Angel) opposite the Club where toilets are also available.
