"A Storytelling Hand" - An Architectural Drawing Workshop

St Leger Room, Level 2, Danum Gallery, Library & Museum, Waterdale, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, DN1 3BZ

  • 20 Sep 2025
  • In person
  • Pre-booking required

Learn the secrets of architectural sketching/drawing! This hands-on session will demonstrate how such drawing can embolden connections and illuminate narrative, in this case to a unique part of Doncaster's heritage: the Sand House.

The session will begin with a short presentation about architectural drawings and theory, with examples from global practices, before moving on to a short workshop of drawing the Sand House. It is brought to you by The Sand House Charity and will be led by Jacob Peplow, a qualified architect.
As with all Heritage Open Days events, it is free of charge. The event is open to adults and children over 12. (Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult and places must be booked for both the child/young person and the accompanying adult.)
Materials will be provided, but participants are free to bring their own sketchbook, pens, iPad, etc., if they so wish.
Any level of drawing ability is welcome.
PRE-BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL due to limited capacity.
