A tale of two histories - Pump House Watford

The first part of the tour will look at the heritage of the buildings as Watford's first fresh water pumping station from 1854 -1915 and its part in the foundation of Watford Borough Council. The second part of the tour sees it development from a storage facility and burnt-out plastics factory into a theatre and arts centre in 1972 until the present day. This including walking tour around the building in the public spaces and in addition a film of the early days in of the conversion from one to another and many drawing photographs and maps are available
The Tour will take around 60 - 90 minutes, usually includes a few steps though a step free route can be managed to about 85 % of the spaces.
