Join us as we delve into the working lives of Aireborough's people from days gone by, such as the corsetiere fitter, the Slubber Doffers who toiled in Guiseley and Yeadon and many more. Where did they live & what was working life like?

As we work to preserve Aireborough's rich history, we continually encounter people who once held intriguing job titles, many of which have faded into obscurity.

Join us on a journey to learn about where these individuals lived, what their roles entailed, from the Slubber Doffers and Scavengers to the Tenters and the local Bobby.

Take, for instance, Norman Bulmer, who resided on King Street in Yeadon. He worked as a Weaver at Westfield Hill and Manor Mills. Why did he always make his way to Yeadon Town Hall every Thursday at 7:45 p.m? What was his occupation during these Thursday evenings, and what paths did it eventually lead him down?
