Alternative Music of Leeds is a self-guided city centre audio trail exploring the major moments of Leeds' alternative music heritage. Discover passwords and codes to unlock stories at each location.

Leeds has a habit of finding itself at the cutting edge of modern music culture, inventing, pioneering and contributing in significant ways to alternative musical styles and the club culture and live music scenes.

Alternative Music of Leeds is a self-guided audio trail taking you on a journey to venues and locations associated with pivotal moments and movements: from Indie to Acid House, Indie to Goth, sampling to sound systems, Back to Basics to Brighton Beach.

Inspired by the idea of ‘urban orienteering’, just pick up a map, follow the trail and solve the puzzles to find the passwords and unlock stories of our city's alternative music culture.
