Alton Quaker Meeting House and Burial Ground
39 Church Street, Alton, Hampshire, GU34 2DA
Still in use as a Quaker Meeting House, the building retains some of its original features although it has been much altered over the years Interesting features include the old safe in the lobby, the two storey wooden screen which can be opened to enlarge the main meeting room and the original Elders' bench. If the weather is good we hope you will visit the burial ground which is attached to the Meeting House and still in use today. It is hoped that there may be a small exhibition about the history of the meeting house and Quakers in Alton over the last 350 years. It is also hoped that there will be some activities taking place. Note also the date of the Meeting House in the boundary wall.
