An Estate Through Time
Foxlease Park, Clay Hill, Lyndhurst, Hampshire, SO43 7DE
This year at Foxlease Park we’re inviting you to visit us to experience the site’s remarkable architectural growth and development over time as seen in the range of features still on display on our key buildings today. Our two listed buildings, the Grade II* listed Foxlease House and the Grade II listed Coach House, mark the history of the site over the years, presenting features from its time as a late Tudor era cottage, which was then encased in a Georgian Country House and which then had later Edwardian additions.
We have some of England’s earliest parquet flooring, Georgian hinges still serving us well, Tudor rooms, a beautiful Italianate terra cotta relief with a story to tell and many other features. The Estate is under new management following its sale to charity Foxie’s Future in November 2024. We’d love to you to join us to celebrate the site’s long-ranging heritage and to see how our restoration is progressing. Drop in through the week to join us on one of our site tours, where our guides will point out some of Foxlease Park’s most charming and notable features, explore one of our heritage displays, our Walled Garden (including heritage plants) or participate in some of our heritage activities happening on site that week, suitable for all ages. You can experience the site’s social and local history courtesy of our team of historians and their accounts of site events, bring a packed lunch to enjoy in our beautiful grounds or join us for a tea and cake.
