An evening with Aylesbury Opera

St. Marys Square, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, HP20 2JJ

  • 20 Sep 2025
  • In person
  • Pre-booking not required

Join us for an evening of exciting performances from Aylesbury's own opera group.

Aylesbury Opera presents a programme of popular highlights, with piano accompaniment. Featuring professional soloists, this will be a wonderful evening of entertainment, with a variety of solos, duets and ensembles from across the opera canon, including Mozart, Donizetti, Verdi and Puccini.

Founded by David Hayes, Aylesbury Opera began in 1979 as an evening class at Aylesbury College of Further Education. Our first production was Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro in November 1980. Aylesbury Opera aims to support young professionals at the start of their career.

Each year we produce a fully staged opera with orchestra, most recently Dialogues of the Carmelites in March 2025. We also put on regular concerts of both full operas and popular opera highlights . These usually take place at churches in the Aylesbury area. Recent concert performances include Donizetti's The Elixir of Love at Holy Trinity Church, Bledlow in October 2024.

A bar will be available on the night for visitors to purchase refreshments.
