Grade I Leman House, Ballygate: the story of the building and its changing architecture over four centuries.

An examination of the Grade I Leman House, its architectural features and its various uses in the last four centuries. The building dates from the late 16th century with a frontage from the 1770s. A school for most of its existence, it has also been a private residence and once housed a doctor's surgery. Most of the building now houses Beccles and District Museum. Your guide will be local historian and museum trustee Dr Barry Darch.
