St Helena’s Church Heritage weekend. Architecture structure and features. Archive records (registers from Lincoln archives) Refreshments available for all dietary needs Only donations will be accepted.

Join us at St Helena’s Church, a grade I listed building, on the 13th and 14th of September to discover the stories of our Church and Church Hall.

Explore the mid-16th-century church, restored in the 19th century with the addition of two new chapels. Archive records (registers from Lincoln archives) will be on display. Please note that special white gloves are to be worn when handling the ancient registrars - the gloves are provided. You are also allowed to take photos if you want for personal records, but please, no flash photography

During your visit, you will also have the opportunity to learn more about our Church Hall building, which was erected in 1905. You'll discover how the materials were transported to Leverton and how its presence today is the result of a gentleman's agreement. Recently restored, the corrugated sides of the church hall are now decked in army camouflage green - just as it would have looked during the Second World War to prevent it from becoming an easy target on bombing raids.

Our visitor book will be available for anyone who wishes to sign.
