The Ashton Gatehouse was the original entrance to Smyth family home in the 1500s. On one side you can see the Grand Ashton Court Estate, while on the other you can see views of South Bristol.
This was once the gateway to the, where staff and local merchants would entre daily to trade with the Smyth family who would export goods to France and Spain.
The Gatehouse is open for all to enjoy.

- Access is via Ashton Park School main entrance via Blackmoors Lane.
Visitors coming from:
Winterstoke Road, continue under the Winterstoke Underpass and take the first left.
Brunel Way, take the Portishead Way (slip road), and take the first left.
A369, continue down Rownham Hill onto Clanage Road, at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit.
M5 Portishead Junction, take the A369. Continue straight on this road which wil take you to Rownham Hill onto Clanage Road, at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit.
Access is free from the Bristol Clean Air Zone.

Prams can be left on the ground floor.
