The Athenaeum is Wiltshire’s Oldest Working Theatre built in 1857 with a rich history for the site that predates the current building.
This walking tour covers the main rooms of the building, plus the cellars, lighting box and stage. The tour includes steps which may not be accessible for all.
A commentary on the history of the building and its features is given on the route. Access to some areas is subject to availability on the day. There will be a display of archive documents and photos in the gallery.

Ramp available to side door leading through corridor to lift for first floor function room. Disabled access further down corridor to the front auditorium and disabled toilet. No wheelchair access to cellars.
Visitors can view archive documents before and after the tour which will head round the building 2pm prompt. There is only one tour.
