A guided walk of Barnsley town centre including the NUM Miners Hall

Barnsley Civic Trust have put together a tour of Barnsley town centre which takes in some of oldest buildings and features of the town centre. The guided tour lasts 90 minutes - 2 hours covering a distance of 1km. The tour also includes admission to the NUM Miners Hall on Victoria Road.

The walk highlights how Barnsley evolved from a medieval market settlement into an important industrial and mining centre, examining the people, industries, and events that shaped the town. Guides share stories about notable buildings, lost streetscapes, local characters, and the changes brought by modern redevelopment.
