An opportunity to visit St Benet's Minster, Beccles and discover its history through a variety of displays

St Benet's is an attractive Roman Catholic Church, Grade II* listed, built in the Romanesque style.
This is an opportunity to find out more about Beccles’ newest listed building, completed in 1908, its architect and its history.
The church will have an updated display outlining the history of the site plus an exhibition of plans and drawings, together with a PowerPoint display about the architect Francis Easto Banham.
At 11.00 there will be a short talk about the history of the church, why it is listed, and its rare archive.
Short guided tours will be available during the day as required as well as self-guided leaflets.
An exhibition of wedding dresses of those who were either married here or have a parish connection will be around the church with photographs of the occasion, and floral displays. Refreshments will be on sale in the hall.
During the rest of the Heritage Days the church will be open for self-guided visits and there will be organised visits for school groups.
