Behind the scenes at Bristol Archives
B Bond Warehouse, Smeaton Road, Bristol, Bristol, BS1 6XN
Bristol Archives care for millions of documents – written records, photographs, maps, film and sound recordings – made by and about the people of Bristol over hundreds of years. From 12th century parchment documents to 21st century digital records, we look after these stories of Bristol and make them available for everyone to view in our searchroom. We safely store these documents in our archive strongrooms and, as part of Heritage Open Day, we are running free strongroom tours so you can find out more about the collections and the work we do to care for them.
As well as the strongroom tours, we will also have a number of other activities at B Bond on Heritage Open Day; you can visit displays in our foyer and searchroom, view footage from our moving image collection and chat to members of Bristol and Avon Family History Society who can help you with your own family history research.
