Discover the lives of the artists and craftspeople who made the objects that collectors adored, and gain insight to the work of the conservators who maintain these objects in the present.

Ranger’s House is an elegant Georgian villa, now best known as the exterior of the Bridgerton home in the award-winning Netflix series. It houses the Wernher Collection which was gathered by the fabulously wealthy Sir Julius Wernher, who could buy the very best and had a passion for what he called the ‘splendidly ugly’ – tiny, unusual artworks expertly crafted in rich materials.

Each treasure at Ranger's House has its own story and its own maker, often forgotten beneath the splendour of the object. Come along for a deep dive into the women who created our 16th Century Chinese Tapestries and watch as our expert conservators share secrets of paintings and reveal how they care for the collection.
