  • In person
  • Pre-booking required

Wolverton Works is the World’s oldest and longest continuously open railway works but is hidden behind the Stratford Road wall. Philip Marsh illustrates what lies behind that wall, including The Royal Train.

Wolverton Works is a shadow of its former importance and size. Philip will illustrate the buildings that have long been demolished, left to decay into dereliction - and those that are in use today. He has a huge Wolverton Works archive and authored the 175th anniversary Wolverton Works and Royal Train book. He will also discuss the planning application that threatened to demolish the Works’ buildings, and what the future may hold. The Royal Train will also be featured which has been based at Wolverton since 1842. Many of the images have never been seen in public before.
