Join members of Berwick Slow Food Group on this short walk exploring Berwick’s centuries of fishing heritage and some of the buildings and people that have shaped it through the centuries to the present day.

Fishing for salmon, sea trout, herring, crab, lobsters and even whales has played an important part in Berwick’s economy for thousands of years. This walk will explore key aspects of Berwick’s Fishy Heritage from the Middle Ages. You will see the buildings used for the trade, hear about how fish were packed for transport across the country and admire the views across the river shaped by fishing activities over the centuries.
