Berwick Visitor Centre and former Methodist Church
Berwick Visitor Centre, Walkergate, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, TD15 1DS
Originally there were two Methodist Chapels in Berwick - Primitive and Wesleyan. This building was the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel which was opened in 1797 with alterations made in 1878. In the early 1920s both congregations amalgamated and worshipped together here until 2017 when it was sold. The building was reopened as a Visitor Centre in 2019 and houses a number of exhibitions about the town as well as a film on the town's history and the Berwick Tapestry. Specially for HODS, come and have a look at an exhibition - Faces of the Photocentre. These are images from our amazing local photographic collection of people and events from the 1960s on.

Accessibility details
No disabled access at present to the first floor but there is lots to see on the ground floor. The images in the exhibition upstairs will be available to view on a screen downstairs.
Additional information
There will be other churches open nearby on particular days in the Festival period - see other entries. If you are interested in photography, there will be a Camera Club exhibition on 12 - 13 September and an exhibition in the Town Hall - 19 - 20 September.
