Explore an exhibition of shared stories, people & architecture of the school and college from 1859-2026. A further exhibition of Community History in the magnificent Main Hall. Free Entry. Student-led.

Following the award winning Community History Festival in March, BHASVIC is delighted to open its doors to the general public once more for its second event of 2026, run by the Storyworks Society.

Find out about the school's use as a military hospital in WW1, the ghost of 'matron', the links with Aubrey Beardsley and see the spectacular College Hall paintings by Ditchling School artist and former pupil, Louis Ginnett.

At our Community History exhibition in the Main Hall, come and talk to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and the Royal Pavilion and Museums team to explore the importance of 'everyday history' in Brighton and Hove and the work they are doing with the College to uncover the real lives behind the names inscribed on the walls.

Alongside the exhibition's and open morning, bookable tours of old and new buildings running throughout the morning. Please see separate event listing for further details.

This event was supported by leading family history website, Findmypast, who provided access to their records as part of their sponsorship of ‘Everyday Histories’, the festival theme. Discover your ancestors' stories at findmypast.co.uk
