Biddesden House

Biddesden House, Biddesden, Andover, Wiltshire, SP11 9DN

  • Multiple dates available
  • In person
  • Pre-booking required

The house was built by General Webb in 1711. The present family have lived in it since 1930 and it has remained little changed since then.

General Webb served under Marlborough and built the house when he retired. His equestrian portrait hangs in the front hall together with inherited Flemish tapestries. The house contains objects gathered through the years by members of the present family as they were growing up as well as pictures and decorations from the Bloomsbury era. Terraces to the West lead up to the walled garden and pool overlooked by a gazebo with mosaics of three classical muses.
