The historic core of this building is a medieval Pele Tower, on top of which a Gothic Revival chapel was raised in the 19th century. Then, in the basement is one of the best surviving examples of a Second World War Anderson shelter in Britain.

Built on the foundations of the pele tower dating to the 14th century, the current Gothic Revival chapel was formerly a private chapel to demolished Biddlestone Hall. Visit for a chance to see inside the chapel, located in the spectacular scenery of Northumberland National Park, and meet the volunteers who help care for this special building.

Previously in care of the Historic Chapels Trust, Biddlestone Roman Catholic Chapel was transferred into the ownership of the Friends of Friendless Churches in spring 2025.
