Join us for a guided walk around the site of the battle of Neville’s Cross (17th October 1346) where an English force defeated an invading Scottish army and captured the Scottish king, David II.

Mike Facchini will lead a walk around the battlefield. The walk will start at 13:45 from near Tollhouse Road, DH1 4HU Durham. Details will be provided in joining instructions. The start point can be accessed by the No 48 Bus route.

The route is about 2.5 miles and the walk will end at approximately 16:30.

Much of the route is level but there are a few moderate gradients (up and down) and some of the route is unpaved and may be muddy and there are stiles – suitable walking footwear and clothing appropriate to the weather forecast are recommended. The route is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs. Remember to bring water if a hot day is forecast. Well behaved dogs welcome but must be kept on a lead.
